  1. Jennifer, enjoyed getting to know you--you're a solid sports fan and have a strong interest in teaching. Later in the course, when we do media ethographies, we'll be talking about how and why certain TV shows may be appealing to certain audiences--you might want to actually study that with some of your peers.

Having that interest in teaching is a critical factor that will drive you during the program. I don't think that doing the EDHD courses in your undergrad program will be a problem because you probably had an enjoyable summer and you can always take the courses for the M.Ed. later.

  2. Jennifer!

You are more interesting than you assume. Look at everything in that room: all sorts of things on the shelves, plus what appears to be a Twins quilt! Did you make that? Buy it? Did your mother make it? My mom is a quilter, so I've developed a keen eye for them, passively.

And isn't it sad that you can watch only one episode of a soap opera per month and still have a pretty coherent map of the plot? Go figure.

    Cheers,
    Dan

  3. Jennifer! (To follow Dan's excitement:))

Loved your blog! Although I do have to just make one thing clear... Packers are better than Vikings, and Brewers are better than Twins...Haha;) It is so funny how you used to teach Spanish to your parents even though you said you didn't really know any...I laughed out loud!! You are going to be a great teacher, and like Dan said, You are more interesting than you assume.

    See you tomorrow!

  4. Hi Jennifer!

I also loved your vlog! I can for sure relate to your love of tv. And I definitely know what you mean about watching soap operas. I sometimes watch the one that is on right after The Price is Right, and the way the plot is moving, you could definitely watch one episode a month and still know what is going on.

And I think it's amazing that you have wanted to be a teacher since you were a little girl. I have never been able to decide what I want to do, so I really admire people like you who have known what they want to do with their lives for so long.

    See you in class!
    Megan
